DiDA Web Designer
The Duke Innovative Design Agency (DiDA), sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and Facilities, is an undergraduate student-staffed marketing and design center founded as a resource for recognized student organizations at Duke. The DiDA team aims to assist recognized student organizations in their efforts to establish their graphic identities – and effectively publicize their programs and events – by offering creative, budget-minded, and Duke-specific branding and marketing solutions. The DiDA team takes a collaborative approach to building client relationships; DiDA staff members work closely with student organization representatives to determine each group’s marketing needs and preferences. The DiDA team provides clients with:
- print design services (i.e., posters, banners, Chronicle ads)
- website design/development services
- artistic projects coordination (i.e., painting Plaza Advertisement Boards)
- marketing campaign consultation and guidance
DiDA Web Designer Responsibilities:
- Review and update the DiDA project request spreadsheet according to standard procedure
- Meet with clients to determine their needs and expectations for their website designs or redesigns, and to establish realistic project deadlines
- Use Adobe Creative Suite software, content management system architecture, and/or technologies such as HTML and PHP to design effective and aesthetically pleasing websites for clients
- Assist with requests for print design projects as needed
- Demonstrate familiarity with University, OSAF, and DiDA policies as they relate to student organization marketing and publicity
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and skill in web design principles and techniques
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software, content management system architecture, and/or technologies such as HTML and PHP
- Attention to detail
- Superior time and project management skills
- Ability to work with a diverse clientele
