Leadership Roundtable
Leadership Roundtable, a semester-long, five-part series, introduces first-year students to leadership at Duke by engaging them in dinnertime dialogue with some of Duke’s most inspiring faculty and administrators. Leadership Roundtable also affords participants an opportunity to share their experiences and insights into leadership with their peers, thus establishing a core group of student leaders committed to affecting positive change in student life throughout their tenure at Duke.
Goals
The purpose of Leadership Roundtable is to help participating first-year students excel in both titular and non-titular leadership roles in the campus and greater community by accomplishing the following five goals:
- Prepare participants for responsible and positive contributions to the campus community while at Duke
- Help participants experience a progressive and evolving understanding of leadership
- Aid participants in developing relationships with administrators by exposing them to campus officials outside of their “typical” setting and role
- Make participants aware of the multitude of campus facilities and resources
- Support participants in developing a network of peers and potential future student leaders
