Nomination Instructions
Any Duke faculty or staff member who serves as a student organization advisor is eligible for the Outstanding Student Organization Advising Award.
Nomination letters should specify whether the individual being nominated is a volunteer or staff advisor.

To nominate an advisor for the Outstanding Student Organization Advising Award, click here to access the form. Nomination letters should not exceed 600 words. The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, March 20 at noon.
Description of Award
This award recognizes the contributions of Duke faculty and staff who serve as volunteer or staff advisors to student organizations.
This award is to recognize exemplary service and support by an advisor whose job it is to advise a particular student organization, i.e. advising is a part of the advisor’s job description. This includes student affairs professionals who advise particular groups as a part of their daily work.
Outstanding Volunteer Advisors
This award is to recognize exemplary service and support by an advisor who advises a group completely on a volunteer basis, which is outside of his/her job description. This would include faculty advisors and those who advise groups that do not specifically apply to their area of profession.
