Job Responsibilities:
Ryan's primary responsibilities are centered on helping student organizations start up, develop, function well, and transition through developmental interactions and policy interpretation. Ryan utilizes human and organizational development theory in his work with student organizations & advisors through group orientations, workshops, and information dissemination (electronic and multimedia). Ryan also serves as the primary advisor for the Student Organization Finance Committee which is responsible for recognizing undergraduate groups at Duke as well as the allocation of student activity fees to student organizations.
With a strong interest in technology and its use in the educational sector, Ryan is also responsible for the development and implementation of the DukeGroups student involvement database. Capitalizing on his background in telecommunications Ryan is available to assist student organizations and the office in technology projects such as mass data collection (Student Government Elections) and website design.
